dubspeeka, known from a streak of amazing originals and remixes on drumcode, lnoe and other labels, makes his off debut with a deep dub techno remix in his signature style, chopping up the vocal in a hypnotic way. musumeci, who established himself with a small but very characteristic number of tracks on connaisseur, bedrock and his own -engrave ltd- label, delivers 2 remix versions, both in his trademark minimalistic and timeless production style. finally, melokolektiv, one of off s new core acts, deliver an interpretation that is both functional and epic, based on a latin flavoured groove.

who is zoé zoe? its not a new french fashion designer. its not a new grill bar in your neighborhood either. and its not a newfound african tribe, nor a thailand made bio energy drink. its a lithuanian small town boy turned promising groom, turned taxi driver, turned techno producer, turned berlin inhabitant or the other way round. he could also be a man behind that secret weapon of your summer 2015 sets. hoy!

bosswoman readies her first ep of 2015, with the superb ‘circle culture’ ep. the three-track release includes a heady, hiplashing techno injection by konstantin sibold & leif müller, who impressed with last year’s ‘kolibri’ on cocoon.

we find it slightly hard to believe that it s been three years since blocks and escher launched narratives music with their explorative *sagan / broken* 12-inch. unafraid to stray from its drum & bass roots, the label has since become synonymous with encapsulating, poignant, cutting-edge music. favouring quality over quantity, blocks and escher have kept the narratives release schedule sparse, only now hitting the big 1-0. along with the founders, only overlook, asc, loxy & resound and rhyming in fives have had their names tied to the label, and it s the latter who returns now for the tenth release.
first surfacing in 2013 with the hindsight ep, rhyming in fives remains enigmatic to say the least. little to nothing is known about the producer, and aside from a free download that dropped last week via mixmag, the new 4-track light leaks ep is only the second offering ever from the mysterious musician.

for the remix we had the pleasure of winning berlin s kiki, who kept the vibe intact adding melodic leads that take the scene complementing a bouncy bassline and using the vocal in a very minimal tasteful way. the package is completed with a dub version of the original, suited to the darker moments and sets.

electric minds began as a london based promotion outfit in 2007 before subsequently launching their label under the same name which is designed to act as a platform for their guests to showcase their productions. over the years they have amassed a lauded back catalogue of releases which has featured the likes of move d, endian, radio slave and mark e. now, in the follow up to their latest release from last magpie which featured trevino on remix duties they ready their next release from hypercolour mainstay shenoda. originally hailing from cambridge, shenoda is an artist who has astutely touched on many basis across a multifaceted back catalogue. releases on fear of flying, manmakemusic and hypercolour offshoot losing suki have seen him meld garage, house and techno whilst all the while keeping his eye firmly on the needs of the dancefloor.

der klang records is a disordine sub-label. this album will be available in a couple of months.vinyl only - limited to 200 copies on black vinyl and 75 numbered red vinyl. active on late 70s / early 80s teknospray were formed by andrea costa, mauro tavella (who later formed monuments), andrea lesmo, alberto ramella (who later formed carmody) and lucio lesmo they recorded few demos and an album which they never released until today as *god in land* is now reissued on disordines sub label der klang for the 1st time.

qnete joins the lobster theremin gang with a trek through inspired drum machine-based house tracks on this debut white label. channeling the spirit of chicago, detroit and new york in a dash through long-buried catacombs to find the lost pads of yore, qnete imbues his sound with melodies so jacking yet so yearning that they belie his young age and short discography. melancholy moods come and go like waves of a fever, leaving us confused and isolated, yet somehow comforted by the overriding desire and optimism left over. a release for the secret lovers, the lost individuals and anyone who s ever been caught dancing in the dark alone.

esa returns with the final instalment for this highlife world series which included previous releases cuba and kenya. having been invited to attend the east africa music conference doadoa in jinja, uganda back in 2014 and again in 2015, esa shares the sounds of a new breed of talent and ideas emerging from east africa and beyond, showcases music not only from uganda but artist from burundi, rwanda, kenya and south africa who all attended the conference.

”love will remember pharaon de winter” is said at the end of the record. pharaon de winter was a painter from north of france, who lived from the end of the xixth century to the beginning of the xxth century. today, pharaon de winter is reappearing again. it’s a band, but also the name of a song, which changed everything for his author. past leader of both bands toy fight and (please), maxime chamoux was playing since now a genre between north american rock of spoon and neutral milk hotel, and sophisticated british pop from prefab sprout or xtc. we find today in this new project songs navigating between french, for most part, and english. partners and friends since a long time, thomas pirot at the drums and raphael ankierman at the bass are playing alongside fx guéant-mata at the guitar. we also find mina tindle and her delicate voice appearing here and there. at last we don’t forget the goldsmith’s talent of canadian musician sandro perri who’s joining the band, highly recommended by pitchfork magazine with his album impossible spaces in 2011.

ryota o.p.p aka ryota arai is the latest signing to meda fury. a highly respected dj, promoter and producer - ryota is a lynchpin of tokyos burgeoning disco / house scene, his comtemporaries include cos/mes, kuniyuki, and kza among others who mix eastern mysticism, jazz spirituality, rare cosmic disco and deeply musical / intricate house.

the second release we do with french artists upwellings aka vincent raude who is professor of modern art at the academy of brest and has been recording music since 1996. his ep comprised two tracks. a-side >dubbin at the strobe< feat. michael zerang shows a nice interaction of drums and sounds developing a profound deep mood. drum parts were recorded in chicago by michael zerang, a real jazz legend who played a lot with peter brötzmann and joe mcphee, hamid drake. the flip side >lighthouse dub< has the aura of an place which is extremely isolated. the sound is at times extremely pulled back and melancholic and holds a sentiment that reminds us a bit of joy divisions >we are the young men<. the track undergoes a transformation beatwise when going more uptempo.

white asega co-­owner jack dixon wrote new curtains after a friend who was coming wildly off the rails told him he was a good producer but his tunes were boring. the original version was really sparse and about 300bpm. when jack moved to new york the parts got lost, so he remade the track a dozen times. this was the version we all liked best, although jack never wants to hear it again in his life. it sounds tough and tropical. our friend troy gunner remixed it, and turned it into something so loud and slamming it will knock your teeth out. after telling jack to stop making boring music, mark kodiak spent two horrendous years working with jamie kodiak on a song they ve called taargus. it nearly destroyed their friendship forever but we think it was worth it. it has brutal weapon sounds, nasty snares and an incessant “yo” that has been described as “annoying and unnecessary”. the artist tom pounder has created a blinding video for it that contains brand new colours. french born bass genius bambounou stepped up to remix the track, taming the wild stems into a hypnotic early­morning house stepper. it took us approximately 2000 exhausting facebook group chats, four cross­atlantic flights and one divorce to get to this point. we hope you will enjoy this record for the rest of your lives. rip ken tulley.

you might have heard of happa by now. hes the leeds native who first burst onto the electronic scene in 2013 with his blistering 12inch-single beat of the drum/ bring it back, the wildly precocious teenager (also known as samir alikhanizadeh) who won instant fans in the likes of mary anne hobbs, loefah and even four tet, the one who scorched a trail with his dark, bass-heavy sledgehammer house, which sounds quite unlike anything else out there right now.

helsinki based label friendship & decadence was setup to tap in to the helsinki electronic music scene and highlight those young and talented producers who inhabit the city. the first release comes via the collective known as joint minds, comprising of three artists autoexec, poly sone & miss kade. the 2 tracks are both live jams recorded using a host of outboard and analogue equipment. -commotion- fills the a-side of the vinyl with a throbbing acid bassline and pulsating industrial stabs, whilst the flip side takes a more stripped back approach. with -headstuck-, a delayed piano floats around rolling drum pattern, uk techno influences aplenty.

liverpool based scenery records has long championed artists and producers from in and around the city. framing the labels sound with the talent on offer in merseyside. the parent label has released eps from the likes of john heckle, bantam lions, binny and label boss asok. it is label boss, asok, who shares this first release with the london based stalwart neville watson, christening the introduction of scenery white with aplomb and a sympathetic step away from the scenery output to date. asok and neville watson supply two tracks each, produced exclusively on outboard equipment and split over each side of the ep

danny moore aka pvre matrix is from a generation of young techno producers out of brooklyn who come at the music without preconcieved notions or boundaries in their approach to production and playing live. he is the epitomy of the slash and burn blitzkrieg attitude of new producers popping up under the jmz everyday. while very interesting to see the scene develop this way, few have executed in such a fashion as pvre matrix has. impeccabily produced without losing its sense of urgency or brutality and clocking in at breakneck speed, pvre matrix is out for blood, and his three track debuts prove as such. while you might not catch danny moore in your local big room anytime soon, he is undeniably a force that is present and will crush you regardless.
